Educational Visits

Learning in direct contact with nature

The Arboretum at Estancia La Constancia opens its doors to educational institutions, teachers and school groups interested in learning directly in contact with nature.

Through guided tours, hands-on activities and ecological observation, we foster a living understanding of biodiversity and the local ecosystems.

TipWhat is an arboretum?

An arboretum is a living, documented collection of trees and woody plants, grown for scientific, educational and conservation purposes: in essence, a “living museum” of trees. Learn more »

Visit content

Each tour is adapted to the educational level and pedagogical goals of the institution, integrating observation, exploration and learning activities in direct contact with nature.

Some of the topics we cover

  • History and transformation of the landscape: how a former field became a 33-hectare arboretum with more than 30,000 plants.

  • Biodiversity and conservation: recognizing native and exotic species, and the role of botanical gardens and arboreta in protecting flora.

  • Ecology and how ecosystems work: relationships between plants, animals and the environment.

  • Botany in action: observing leaves, flowers, seeds, bark and other plant structures to understand how scientists identify and study species.

  • Environmental education and sustainability: reflecting on caring for the environment, ecological restoration and the importance of individual and collective action.

  • Sensory exploration of nature: activities to discover the sounds, colours, shapes and scents of the garden through playful, participatory proposals.

Methodology

Visits combine guided walks, scientific observation, educational games, teamwork and moments for reflection, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and a bond with nature.
